Skull-shaped jewellery for Halloween

Skull-shaped jewellery for Halloween

Spectral enough to be the perfect shape for Halloween night, yet rich in symbolism and ancestral meaning, the skull is a decorative pattern that never goes out of fashion thanks to the long history behind its outlines.

In fact, its journey in jewellery spans several historical periods and cultures and delves its roots into Roman times.

In Europe it became particularly prominent during the period of Memento Mori art and ornamentation in the 16th and 17th centuries. It continued its presence, coupled with other symbols, such as snakes or hearts, during the Victorian era, until it became a key symbol of the Gothic movement and, later, of punk in the 20th century.

Nowadays, it portrays the rock soul of those who choose to wear it, but it can also define the character of creations meant to convey strength, courage and resilience in the face of adversity. The ring by Nove25 and the bracelet handcrafted by Giovanni Raspini reproduce its likeness strictly in silver, which proves to be the perfect noble metal for releasing all its spiritual strength.

Cameo Italiano, on the other hand, has transformed it into a hand-engraved mini-sculpture on a Chevalier ring, merging tradition and contemporaneity.
